To my fellow product managers…
You are enough. You deserve to do what you love.
I talk to product managers every day who are struggling in toxic work environments where they are made to feel small every day. Their ideas are not validated. They feel invisible.
Here are some of the steps to build your self-confidence as a product leader so you can start to drive your product career instead of being in the passenger seat (or for some, in the back seat).
You do not need anyone else’s approval to be confident and strong.
You don’t need to be someone you’re not
Don’t be too scared to move out of your comfort zone.
You have to know yourself.
Part of moving into leadership AND loving what you do is to ‘stand in your power.’ Own your strengths, value, boundaries, and worth.
As part of my Inspired Product Leader Program, one of the many things we focus on with our clients is building the confidence and sense of internal power to enable product managers to level up and enjoy work again. The result is nothing short of amazing. They are move into amazing product positions, love what they do, and get into the drivers seat of their career.
